Like many of us, I keep watching the escalating crime problem in T&T and the, ‘head in the sand’, approach to addressing it. I will not even get into the idiotic Martin Joseph, Minister of National (In)Security and the apparent parallel universe in which he resides. There is no other plausible explanation for the dotish dotish comments he continually makes. I don’t know which is more shameful, what he says and the absolute inappropriate time he says them or the unwillingness of the press to challenge him. Anyway that eh what I want to ask here.
What I want to say is that I am increasingly thinking that there is only one institution that can save T&T from this downward crime spiral.
The Trinidad and Tobago Defence Force.
I would not be surprised to read one day, soon, that the TTDF has moved out of Tetron and taken over power in T&T and jailed Martin Joseph’s baxide. If the end is peace and tranquility for the law abiding citizens and hot lead for the gangsters I would agree with that means only, justifying the ends.
What are your thoughts on that move even if you had never thought of it before?
I also strongly suspect that somewhere within SAUTT there are files with evidence gathered by all them CSI folks we see in pictures at every crime scene. I would hope the TTDF uses the information in those files to go find the likely murder suspects.
Desperate times call for desperate measures and I would sleep good at night if this happened.
